| Sunday’s game lived up to what was expected both teams came ready to play and they both battled to the end. Andrew Smiley and Andy Perez matched each other inning after inning the entire day. Andrew Smiley pitched a complete game ( 8 innings) striking out 6 batters walking 3 and gave up 5 hits and no runs to earn the win. Andy Perez also pitched a solid game going
7 innings striking out 5 batters walking 3 and only gave up 2 hits,he ended up with a no decision. The Metz scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the 8th after loading the bases off of the reliever Stefan Rollins who couldn’t find the strike zone and walked three batters. The Amigos made another pitching change bring in Michael Morin who warmed up and when play resumed the unthinkable happen Michael Made his first and only pitch which ended up by the amigos dugout ! The game was stopped after the pitch because Michael was in tremendous pain and on the ground. The Metz scored the only run of the game on that play as time ran out . The Metz want to wish all the best to Michael Morin who was taken away by ambulance. A great game by both teams tarnish by an ugly injury to a player battling all day. |
