Well on a sun splashed beautiful albeit scorcher of a day in Delray Beach; the SOUTHERN YANKEES & BOCA METS resumed the SOUTH FLORIDA BASEBALL LEAGUE season..... more to follow - The Southern Yankees scored 4 in the top of the first and added 8 more runs by the fifth inning and cruised to a 12-3 victory over the Boca Mets. Eric Judd and Sam Bartoleta stroked 3 hits apiece to lead the offensive attack. Reidy Oliva had two hits and 3 RBI and Migeul Peralta, Bob Esposito and Jerry Wichert also clubbed two hits to keep the line moving. Bobby BASEBALL Stallone went the distance throwing about 125 pitches knowing he was going to get rainouts the following few weeks. He struck out 7 Mets batters and was a warrior throughout despite the heat on the field. The Southern Yankees look to continue this coronavirus plagued season and look to get in the playoffs and make some noise. Stay thirsty my friends! |
