Narcissistic Umpire Stickup @ Sunset
by Southern Yankees (35+ Division)

Let's get right to the point & tell it like it is ......more to follow- The Southern Yankees jumped out to a quick 4 zip lead early and led all the way until the late innings. AFter 7 FRAMES it was 4-1 and the Nats scored 2 more in the 8th to make it 4-3 YANKEES. In the bottom of the 9TH a lead off walk put the tying run on base. A long gapper by ALFONSO WAS RUN DOWN IN left center by Yankee left fielder Steve Sandman who clearly caught the ball in his web in a spectacular diving grab The Nats runner who was on first had to get back to the bag or avoid being doubled off as his teammates implored him to get back. The throw somehow got thru and the umpire who originally signaled out decided to reverse his call and say no catch and put runners on second and third. Sandman who is one of the most respected and honorable players in the SFBL for twenty years was targeted by the umpire who clearly had no tolerance for even a discussion about the play. And the home plate umpire could have clearly overruled him after the two had a pow wow but like I said it doesn't matter it was taken out of our hands. I as do my players always live by the mantra that you want to get kissed B-4 you get you know what- but no one on either side expected the umpires to rule it as they did. Even the Nationals apologized after the game in the handshake line. Of course we walked the next batter and then a single wins it in walkoff fashion 5-4. After the game the Nats almost to a player expressed their dismay at the call but the umpires ruled it the way they did and there was no flexibility or a legitimate explanation . Hats off to the Nats and JOSE Bautista Garcia and Alfonso who all clubbed 2 hits each. The Yankees were led by Eric Judd Sam Bartoletta Pete Fricker and Mike Ennis who all had 2 hits in the heartbreaking game. The Yankees had numerous opportunities to blow the game open but were unable to do so. The defense was spectacular and Bobby Stallone pitched again a masterful game only to be robbed by a call that shocked players from both sides. We will see the Dade Nationals again down the road and be on a more level playing field. There is no crying in baseball but there shouldn't be stickups on the field by the first base umpire who decided to make it all about him. Enough said- we move on. The Southern Yankees continue the Fall/Winter Season on Sunday January 19th vs the Miami Cardinals who are coming up to play us in Ft Lauderdale. No jokes or songs this week or grabbers in my story except for maybe one you surely understand - hopefully we will resume with more creative color commentary and all that next week with our annual SUPER BOWL EDITION. Thank you 4 your time this time until next and always remember to Stay Thirsty My Friends!

Congratulations both team.Great game.Hello Nationals be happy.Go Nationalsjorge orbete(coach).
