| Dade Nationals built their lead a few runs at a time in an 8-2 victory over the Agnels on Sunday. A double by Ruiz put the Nationals on the board in the top of the second. Perez responded in the bottom of the second with an RBI single to tie the game.
The Nationals took the lead for good on a triple by Lozano, giving the Nationals the lead 3-1 in the top of the third. Ruiz earned the win for the Nationals allowing 9 hits and 1 run over 5 innings striking out 2. Batista took the hill from Ruiz allowing 3 hits, striking out 2 over 2 innings. Lozano finished the game on the hill for the Nationals allowing 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 1 over 2 innings.
The Angels banged out 13 hits in the game with Loos, Young, Oliveros, & Ramirez each collecting 2 hits. Ogden stole 3 of the 4 bases swiped by the Angels. Defensively they were solid, committing one error of the 44 balls put in play by the Nationals. While Doc took the loss, he was solid on the mound. 73% of his pitches were thrown for strikes and walked none. |
