| ⚾️AND DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME...🐎. updated with scratches annual Kentucky Derby edition coming this week...... Congrats Nationals great comeback! The focus this week is on a childrens cancer charity which is much more important than a baseball game.In the grand scheme of things of course playing with your beloved teammates is always loads of fun. But it is not a real life dilemma like cancers brings us. Again and in the past if you have been reading these color commentaries we use symbolism and real life situations to add to your wisdom and knowledge. Many of us have attended the Pinkball Charity that Southern Yankees ACE Bobby Stallone and his family selflessly put on every year. This weeks focus event is the Nicholas Chiera Foundation Cancer Event. They send young kids many who aspire to be ballplayers and live a normal life to a wonderful camp upstate. Nicks Kids and the Chiera Foundation is a magnificent charity event that takes place every May usually right around the Derby. This years event takes place the day after on Sunday May 4th in Boca Raton. The family loves horses especially ones in the winners circle. The charity focus is on young kids with cancer. That is real life heartache and the money raised at the event allows these kids to attend camp in Central Florida. It also puts a big smile on their faces. That is real significant and important.. As us BASEBALL players have a bad at bat or game out of their system so do these beautiful kids who hope to do the same with the cancer. With love, prayers faith and encouragement these kids have an incredible opportunity to get on the road to a happy normal life. The charity as noted sends many kids to camp and after hearing many of them speak over the years and this coming Sunday afternoon I am sure there will not be a dry eye in the packed venue as the children on stage many of which are 10-15 convey to the audience that the camp is always magical. They say it changes their lives and of course their attitudes. Hundreds of kids get sent to the camp thru the charity and the older ones are provided scholarships, DO YOU GET THE PICTURE? That is what this writer is always trying to convey to you the reader as far as what your outlook is. IF YOU THINK YOU CAN THEN YOU CAN! ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT! . The teaching, symbolism and message here is this..... To learn that nothing in life or on the baseball diamond should be taken for granted. Remember as we always tell you that the wheel of life is always turning/spinning and soon it will turn in your direction. Never lose your passion or zest for life. Resolve in the future never to mail it in because your effort and attitude will always determine your altitude. And once again passion and enthusiasm will always translate into a more fun and and memorable experience that people and those in your sphere will remember most. This years event takes place Sunday afternoon at the Broken Sound Country Club right after our morning game. It always is an incredible turnout an you know know its for a great cause. This weeks color commentary isn't as witty and clever as some in the past that are all posted online. But you get an eclectic mix usually every week and honestly we sometimes have to change it up once in a while and Keep you the reader interested. Writing all this takes an incredible amount of time and as much as I just flow writing it the scribe isn't as easy TO TIE ALL IN WITH THE GRABBER LINE as you may think. Of course late night is when you get my best as its now 2:34 AM Thursday morning AND THATS ALL I GOT! . So hopefully this will reach you in time to resonate and get you to think. Now our annual KENTUCKY DERBY prognostication. This Saturdays Run For The Roses Kentucky Derby also is forecast by this writer to be neck and neck back and forth up and down thru-out the race. Lets keep it clean and hopefully the horses are not wired with juice either as some trainers may try and beat the system as in the past. Again as we always pontificate and preach to you the reader to get back in the batters box of life and take your cuts and 19 horses many costing millions will take their shot in the greatest two minutes of sports. BTW if you see your horse lifting his tail and dropping some fresh fertilizer on the wet track thats always a good sign! So in keeping with tradition as in past years; this writer has an opinion that you just may want to consider. You can call it hold your horses advice, something to consider or simply a suggestion. Now here's my take on this Saturdays upcoming Kentucky Derby race. With 20 or so mostly lightly raced horses anything can happen .Most have unlimited upside potential because they are so lightly raced. There have been bombs away in many previous Derby results but with this year and everything upside down that isn't likely. Look for more favorites and chalk to be there on your ticket and at the finish line. If the rains come late it will be bombs away as horses react differently with mud in their faces. If the weather causes a sloppy track look for the main man upstairs to make a statement with Render Judgement or Coal Battle to move up. I expect Journalism & Baeza along with Neoeqous to break early out of the gate and set the pace entering the first turn. American Promise along with Citizen Bull will take back and save ground along the rail. That strategy should set up for a late run past many horses as they turn for home towards the finish. Sandman, Soverignty and Coal Battle are closers and expect them to execute that script we have laid out. Sandman is in post 17s 0 for 44 funk and you know how much we like Reggie and the hard 8 as do you so we will see how that plays out. American Promise is also bred out of Stay Thirsty and you know how we always close the color commentary so that may translate into a symbolistic sign. # 17 should be at or in the lead at the top of the stretch with Burnham Square, Coal Battle & Render Judgement, Resilience along with Journalism in the area code. There also is an intriguing Japanese horse named Forever Young as we all aspire to be who just won a big race in DUBAI. He also should be in the commentators call but will fade fast and likely end up mid-pack. Out of the clouds SANDMAN will come flying 🐎🐎late and blitz by everyone . His previous trips in races have been unfriendly and he had to go very wide but still won the races. In the end at the finish line look for SANDMAN to get the gold with Journalism, Tiztastic and Render judgement a bomb in the mix if its sloppy. I think Sandman or Journalism wins with Chunk of Gold ,Render Judgement and Luxor Cafe as my longshots perhaps getting on the ticket . I have my opinion as just stated but remember the horses have all the answers in the races outcome. Hopefully you STEP UP TO THE WINDOW ,SEND IT💰IN and collect many more disposable dead presidents to add to your wallet that weren't in there when you started. Hey what do I know, its your turn to be spot on and perhaps catch a bomb on the ticket. So GOOD LUCK WHATEVER YOU DECIDE. BTW the Southern Yankees played the 8x champion Dade Nationals last week and the Nats spanked the Yankees 10-5.
