| AND THE BAND PLAYED ON- .... MORE TO FOLLOW..... Many of you out there in color commentary land love listening to the greatest R & B group of all time- The Temptations. Their music is intoxicating & upbeat with many of their songs classic and symbolic. Their unique and timeless sound has entertained millions of dancing fans for over 50 years. Many of you have been to the Broadway show Ain't too Proud while on tour which is the Temptations life story. The show was alright' spectacular and had everyone jumping out of their seats in a 'Ball of Confusion''. Try & 'Stay with Me' here as this edition of the color commentary has taken me all week to compose. With the Mideast on fire and the markets again volatile sometimes you just have to find the time after midnight. After reading this hopefully you won't be singing another Temptations song -'I'm Losing You'. Hey remember, you- the audience has to be drawn in with the opening GRABBER line. We then have to tie it all together so its funny, inspirational and more importantly gets you to think about life. Call it my way of overcoming the theory of 'Cant get Next To You'. So we are all over the place this week as this one is more difficult and tricky to compose. After listening to a medley of Temptations songs and looking at the lyrics we may have come up with making it zany and creative for you the reader. But on the serious side my conveyance to you is to talk about the real life story of the Temptations. They had numerous obstacles and roadblocks to overcome to keep it together. Much like we pontificate to you in previous editions about bouncing after you have been knocked down and telling yourself always that you do have what it takes despite what others jealous or non empathetic of you may foster. Prove them wrong like the Temptations did. Doesn't this sound familiar and the songs and lyrics make you think of your own personal life and what you have been dealing with? Co founder of the group Otis- what a great name- WILLIAMS continues to preside over the current lineup of Temptations. And they continue to tour, perform and play 'As the Band played on'. I have seen Jersey Boys quite a few times and the Temptations AINT TOO PROUD show is on the same level where you are so pumped up and on 'Cloud Nine' after experiencing it. Is it Just my Imagination or have we not commented on the baseball game yet? The Southern Yankees traveled down to Miami to play the 9 time defending Champion and very talented Dade Nationals.
It was a a well played all around great contest by both teams and was decided in the final inning. The Yankees had just suffered a tough 11-10 loss the week before against the undefeated Broward Marlins who rallied in their final at bat to upend the Yankees. Remember one of the Temptations songs What becomes of the Broken Hearted' and that 'Happiness is just an illusion'? Well we know that life sometimes or should I say lots of times just isn't fair and you question yourself. Why do bad things happen to good people?. Well just start singing 'Just My Imagination' when those negative thoughts get in your head and on your mind . Instead think of all the unique and special God Given qualities and talents you have been blessed with. Overcome it like the Temptations did and use it to your advantage. Prove the doubters and disbelievers wrong. You know as we always tell you right here- nothing is sweeter in life than doing what others say you cannot do or accomplish! . Start singing & dancing to 'Get Ready cause Here I Come:' We all have been knocked off our perches a hand full of times in life. We have sung to ourselves 'Since I lost my baby' and 'Please Don't Leave me Don't you go'. It could have been a relationship, health matter, job situation or money issue that has you wishing for 'All the riches a man can take'. THE WHEEL OF LIFE IS ALWAYS TURNING DESPITE THE UPSIDE DOWN WORLD WE ARE IN TODAY. Soon it will turn in your direction and 'You can be anything you wanted to ' like the lyric from the song'The way you do the things you do and As the band played on are obviously the themes of this pontification clearly state. Hopefully this all ties in for you and you get the symbolic & meaningful message. Oh, getting back to the game it was a nail biter right down to the end with several lead changes. Bobby Esposito & Luis Sanchez were the hitting stars for the Southern Yankees banging out four big hits each to lead the attack . Sam Bartolleta, Delvin Pasqual & Reidy Oliva slugged two hits each to keep the lineup moving. Reidy Olivo closed it out with a clutch shut down of the Nationals big and talented squad late
after taking over for for Bobby Stallone who went his longest outing in over a year. The Yankees scored four big runs in the top of the ninth after being down 9-8 to win this one Running Away by a score of 12-9. Everyone in the lineup had at least one hit and it was a collective effort by all. Ramon Alfonso was once again tough on the mound and Alex Bautista led the Dade Nationals with 3 sharp hits. Hats off to the Nationals and their championship team and hopefully we will see you again in the playoffs if we get invited to the dance. The Southern Yankees travel to Ft Lauderdale this Sunday for an afternoon contest against the strong hitting Boca Mets and their star Julio Hernandez. . In closing 'we thank you for your time this time until next' and
