| Phillies Take The Lead Early But Drop Last 4 frames to Third Straight Loss |

| The Phillies took the field for the third time this season after a rain out from the previous week. They came into this game 0-2 after dropping two consecutive out of the gates in the Fall 2023 season.
The game began 1-0 in favor of the Braves early in the first, but by way of the superb play from both sides of the game, starting pitcher for the Phillies, Donte Rankine, keeps the Braves bats relatively quiet through 3 2/3 innings. As well as crushing a two-run-homerun to give the Phillies a 2-1 lead after the third. But that lead was short lived as the Braves slowly chipped away on Rankine after a 5 run 4th and 5th inning. After the grandslam in the 5th, the Braves never looked back and ran away to a 12-2 win at home.
The Phillies, on a positive note, have shown even more life at the plate early, but seem to lose the steam later in the game leading to more errors and lack of runners on base. But the Phillies look to get in the win column for the first time this season against the Twins next weekend. |
