| A hot and humid morning led way to some incredibly competitive baseball. The rangers are always stiff competition. Despite some outstanding pitching by Mariner's Starter Neil Sullivan, the Rangers took a 2-0 lead into the 8th inning. Javi Diaz pitched excellently in relief paving the way for some late inning heroics. The Rangers starter held the normally potent Mariner's bats in check.
Leading off the bottom of the 8th Gaby Hernandez looped a single to left field just over the head of their SS. Followed by a double from Jeremiah Schnapp, the Rangers made a smart move to intentionally walk Neil Sullivan, however, it did not work in their favor as Anthony Giuffrida laced a single to Right Field and Juan Carmanate hit a fielders choice tying the game. Neil Sullivan eventually scored to take the lead.
As always the Rangers played an incredibly competitive game and we look forward to playing them again in the future. |
