| The first sunny Sunday in weeks created a great environment for a great game on Sunday as the A's squared up against the Miami Dodgers. The Dodgers came out strong with 3 runs early to take a 3-0 lead on the A's behind a very strong start from their lefty. A 4 run 4th however gave the A's the lead and put them in the game. The inning was highlighted by a 3 run double from Jose Martinez who smoked a line drive to left center with 2 outs. Jose ended the day with an impressive stat line, 3-4 with 5 RBI. His lone out was also a line drive. The Dodgers did answer with a 2 run 5th to take a 1 run lead but the A's quickly answered in the bottom half of the inning with a 6 spot to take a 10-5 lead and never look back as they won 13-7 and improve to 7-3 on the season. Ramses Tur had a big day at the plate going 3-4 with a double and an RBI. Albert Jardines and Carlos Alvarez each had 2 hits with a double while 4 other A's players had hits to total up 14 hits on the day. On the mound, Ariel Bello made the start and earn the win with a gutsy 6 inning performance and Carlos Alvarez pitched the final 2 to secure the win. The A's will now play back to back games versus the undefeated Canes in search for seeding going into the playoffs. |
