Tigers survive the heat and Black Bats...
by Davie Tigers (28+ Division)

After another couple of weeks off due to rainouts, Tigers would get back on the field in Miami to face Black Bats. It would be another tough battle for the Tigers, facing the oppressive heat and the resilient Black Bats. But the Tiger bats would get hot themselves, striking for 3 in the 1st off of consecutive base hits by Coach Carnevale, Adam, and Ricardo. Ricardo batting in the 4th spot for the 2nd time this season would knock in the 1st of his 3 RBI's on the day. Vince and Andy would knock in the other 2 runs that inning with hard singles off of the Black Bats starter. Ray would take the hill in the bottom of the inning and looked sharp early. In the top of the 2nd, the Tigers would drop a 5 spot, pushing the lead to 8-0. That inning, Chayanne would lead off with a walk, and would advance to second on a line drive base hit by Cesar. Big C has been stinging the ball lately for the Tigers. Ray would get on a FC and Jose would walk. That would ultimately lead to another RBI base hit by Ricardo as well as an RBI triple by Mike. Mike would have an overall great game as he would later bail out the Tigers on the hill. Ray would shut down BB's in the 2nd but things would unravel a bit for the Tigers in the 3rd. A couple of miscues by the Coach at 2nd, and several hard hit balls by the BB's would see the lead shrink to 8-6. Leading off the top of the 4th, and clearly ticked about the miscues, Coach Carnevale would rip a double over the left fielder's head. Ricardo would come through yet again with his 3rd RBI hit, extending the lead to 9-6. Ray would settle down on the mound, taking the lead into the 6th, but would exit midway in th 6th after giving up a quick run. Big C would come in relief with the Black Bats threatening and get the job done to preserve the lead. Tigers would go quietly in the 7th but Black Bats would not, scoring 2 runs to tie the game. But this Tiger team has proven this season that it will scratch and claw its way to victory, scoring 4 runs to take back the lead. Chayanne would walk to lead off the inning, Ray would get a base hit to move him over to 2nd. Jose would get a hit to load the bases, and Coach Carnevale would take one in the ribs to get a run in. Then coming up big again for the Tigers would be last season's Team MVP, Adam Stramwasser. The smooth swinging lefty would stroke an opposite field double to left field to bring in 2 more. Tigers would take the lead 13-9. Mike Orris would take the hill in the bottom of the inning. Mike was sharp, striking out 3 of 4 batters to seal the win for the Tigers! Fun game in the Miami sun, and always a challenge against long time competitors, the Black Bats...

BlackBats lost against long time rivals 13 to 9!
by Miami Black Bats (28+ Division)

BlackBats started earlier playing inconsistent defense on the infield that allow the Tigers to go up 8 to 0. After some now typical screams and delusions with the Heat the team was able to come back by opportunistic hitting and hard hustle. We got out of energy towards the end when the errors came back in decisive fashion. Great competitiveness by our friends the Tigers! Let's see who goes to playoffs!!!
