| A heartbreaker in the rain |

| Both teams came out with strong offense in the 1st inning. After the Red Sox scored 2 quick runs in the top half of the 1st, the Brewers stormed back in the bottom half with 3 runs. The game settled in to a pitcher's duel between Cory Casuso and AJ Bird, highlighted by sparkling defense by Jose Anorga at shortstop. Neither pitcher gave up another run. In the 8th inning, the sky and the game turned ominous, as the rains came. After the umpires cleared the field for the 3rd time in the inning due to rain, the Red Sox managed to score 2 runs in tough field conditions and take the game away from the Brewers. This game also featured 7 broken bats in this wood bat contest. |
