| Metz loss a tough one 4-3 |

| The Metz lost a tough one Sunday 4-3 John Emmons pitched a gem striking out 12 batter and givig up only 1 earn run, but the Metz defense did them in giving up three unearned runs two of them in the bottom of the 9th without the benefit of a hit. John was relieved by Tony Bergnas with one out and runner on 1b & 2b Tony walked the first batter he faced to load the bases and then hit the next batter to force in the the winning run. Earlier in the inning the lead-ff batter reached on an error went to second on a steal and then to third on a pass ball and with the infield in scored the typing run when a ground ball to the 2b was thrown away at home putting the wiining run on 2b which eventually scored on the hit batsman. Great game Cubs. The Metz look forwards to playing teams in their division. The Metz have now played 4 teams from the younger division and although have played well against them would love to play teams in their divisions the rest of the season. |
