| The A's were too much for the Yanks this week. Solid pitching, and too much Gomez. He was awesome.
Good game. We should have been more competative. |

| Behind a 4 hit performance from their leadoff hitter, Alvaro Gomez, the A's defeated the Fort Lauderdale Yankees 14-4 on Sunday to improve to 4-1. Gomez went 4-5 on Sunday with a double and homerun and scored and drove in 3 runs. In total, the A's combined for 14 hits but also took advantage of 15 walks to knock out the Yanks. Although both teams have been in the league for over 15 seasons each, this was the first time the teams had matched up.
The A's also had big games from Albert Jardines, Jose Zabala and Aron Marcincoski who each had 2 hit games. Aron banged out 2 doubles while Zabala hit one double and Jardines had a HR taken back by an incredible play from the Yanks centerfielder. Isaac Seaone continued his hot start with another 2 run single while Chicho Vengoechea, Jose Torres and Ernie Lorenzo each added hits.
On the mound, the A's ace, Alex Arteaga struggled with his command as he walked nine hitters but he was able to maintain the game in check behind 11 strikeouts. Alex went the distance for his 4th win this season.
