| The A's improved to 2-1 on this young season with a big 14-1 win over the Homestead Hurricanes on Sunday. The A's opened the scoring early with a 7 run first and never looked back. Offensively, the A's were led by Chicho Vengoechea who had a huge day going 2-3 with 5 RBI, 4 of which came off a grand salami in the 3rd which sealed the game for the A's. Aron Marcinkoski also had a big day going 2-2 with 3 RBI which included a 2 run triple. Miguel Garcia also drove in 3 runs on 2 hits. Luis Cabral continued his tear with his 5th double while Isaac Seaone hit his 2nd double of the season.
Alex Arteaga had another impressive game on the mound going a total of 5 innings to earn the win. Alex pitched the first 4 innings and then gave way to Alvaro Gomez for 2 innings, but since Gomez had to leave early, Alex returned to pitch the final inning. Alex struck out 2 and only gave up 2 hits in his 5 innings, while Gomez struck out 5 in his 2 innings of work. |
