Kendall Brewers outscore Coral Springs Tigers in their inaugural SFBL battle.
by Kendall Brewers (Premier Division)
|
Sunday's game against The Tigers was the 2nd game of a double-header for most of The Brewers. Aggressive base running, timely hitting, and solid defense propelled The Brewers to victory in their SFBL debut. The top of the lineup was especially productive. Mike Rodriguez, JC Nunez, and Mike LaManna accounted for 7 runs scored and 5 RBI's. Sean Davidson pitched 4 strong innings, combined with Jay Habacht and Jeff Duran in relief. Mike LaManna slammed the door shut to record the save. Today's game also marked the return of Ernie Jorge from shoulder surgery just 2 weeks ago. Ernie chipped in with 2 hits and 2 RBI's. The game was a great all-around team effort. The Brewers will be tested next game against league commissioner Mickey Filippucci's Red Sox.

Tigers drop 1st game of new season..

With some poor defense and lack of clutch hitting, the Tigers would lose to a new Premier Div team, the Kendall Brewers. The layoff would hurt the Tigers in the field, as they would commit several errors. The pitching duo of Jesse and Rick would really pitch well, just did not get the support in the field. The offense battled despite the LOB's, with Rick Cabello and David Carnevale, each with 3 hits and RBI's. Tigers will keep their heads up, as we look to get back several missing players and hopefully add a few new ones for Game 2. Thanks to the Brewers for their understanding and good luck on the rest of season!
