Lopez provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Boca Yankees with three runs batted in.They went 1-for-2 on the day. Carlos Mogollon, Hernandez, Victor Hernandez, and Soriano AKA Chewy each collected multiple hits for Boca Yankees. Miguel Fernandez stole two bases. Boca Yankees worked the count all day, amassing six walks. Boca Yankees turned one double play in the game. |

| After getting shell shocked by the Boca Yankees in their SFBL Inaugural game this afternoon at McArthur High School in Hollywood, the Lauderdale Phillies get the first taste of home field loss in the worst fashion. The game was held close by 23-year-old Donte Rankine, a returning all around the diamond player to McArthur High's field, to a close 1-0 score, then 3-0 come the 3rd. But the Phillies could not get the bats started soon enough as the Boca Yankees take advantage of a seven run 5th inning as errors lead to multiple 0 out chances with runners on, strongly deterring starting pitcher Rankine who went 4 1/3. But from then on the Phillies were left in the dust as new pitcher Jed Simms comes to close things out so the Phillies can head back to the drawing board and batting cages in preparation for next weeks comeback game.
But in a positive turn out, with the top of the line up bats being relatively quiet, the bottom 5-9 bats had a day. Accumulating 5 of the teams 5 total hits today. Stand out performances by fielders Sebastian Patxot and Andrew Pitalua for getting the bats going and combining for 3 hits. Meanwhile, scoring the first points for the Lauderdale Phillies season and getting on base twice was Steven Dickson.
All aside, it's just the beginning for both teams in a young season. Boca Yankees start the season hot on the road and the Phillies look for the chance to turn the ship around and get the bats hot next week.
