| Many of you have heard of the old school soul R&B soul funk dance group The Whispers. The well dressed and fabulously choreographed dance moves they performed were legendary and improvisational. They formed in the rough Watts area in California and landed first class all over the country with 15 top ten singles. They had a catchy hit song that went to the top of the billboard charts called 'And the Beat goes On'. Play it in another window on your computer device while you are reading this and I'm very sure your feet will be tapping to the tune. The Southern Yankees; like the lyrics in the song are 'still moving strong on and on' They continued their assault thru the South Florida Baseball Leagues Over 35 Division with another thumping win. Just like the song says 'when you win somebody has got to lose' and this time it was the classy Boca Mets. Reidy Olivo was one of the game stars along with Steve Sandman who continues to rake. Olivo singled ,doubled and tripled and also struck out the side closing out the game. Sandman a former SFBL MVP and perrenial All -Star stroked 3 hits & had 3 RBI to lead the Yankees attack. Roberto Esquenazi & Tom Stallone both smacked a couple hits to make sure the lineup beat 'went on'. The Southern Yankees have now outscored their first 3 opponents by an 'and the beat goes on' score of 57-5 and look 'Rock Steady' which also happens to be another hit Whispers song that you have heard many times. Believe me punch up the videos to the song and watch and get pumped up. Its like the music takes you to the old days when life was much more fun and the powers that be weren't trying to knock you off your perch. Bob Stallone was again lights out keeping the Mets hitters off balance with his assortment of moving, darting pitches. This season for the Southern Yankees Baseball Club team players can best be described as singing 'Its a love thing' which also was another gyrating fun dance tune the Whispers performed. So 'the beat goes on' for the Yankees and we remain humble as there are plenty of tough squads to face and pitches to try and square up. The camaradarie and fun we have in the dugout and on the field is contagious and everyone is enjoying themselves so far! Remember everyone's lives are getting more challenging these days so tell someone close to you that they are loved & that you appreciate what they do for you. Acknowledge all the gifts that have been bestowed upon you and reach out & give back more than you receive. It will come back tenfold. Spend quality time with your friends, family and loved ones.
