Winston pitches complete game for the W
by Deerfield White Sox (28+ Division)

The Deerfield White Sox finally played a game where the defensive errors were kept below double digits. The highlight of the game was the pitching by Winston who wiggled out of trouble time and time again, getting outs after the errors that were made. That's really what pitching is all about. The other notables of the game were Juan Vene who made it safely on base on every at bat and Mike Clark who blasted a solo HR to provide some slight cushion in the late innings. Great game by the Southern Yankees, our baseballs just happened to land between the lines a few more times in key spots than yours, Franklin pitched extremely well also. See you guys around...

The Southern Yankees bats were shut down by the Deerfield White Sox in a well pitched game by both hurlers. A few well placed hits were the difference and Mike Clark of the WhiteSox was a monster at the plate with his perfect swing. The Southern Yankees were held to only 5 hits but played well defensively. Sam Bartoletta made it look effortless with his gun by throwing out would be Sox base stealers from his knees. Frank Crupi made some stellar plays with the glove at first and all around we just didnt get the big hit when the opportunity presented itself. The Southern Yankees had numerous setups to break the game open but White Sox hurler Winston was dificult to solve on the mound and struck out 7 Southern Yankees batters in a close contest. Anthony Tomasi led the muted offense with 2 hits . we look forward to getting our full squad together next time we meet. Steve Wulf you and your team have a lot of class & talent and we wish you well for the rest of the season. W e have a bye this week & return to action in Weston on 12/22. Stay thirsty my friends!
