Scattering five singles and issuing one walk, Gomez dominated the capable Yankee lineup with a 14 strikeout effort.
Gomez also contributed with the bat crushing a home run and a double and driving in five runs.
Anthony DeFilippis led the Angels with three hits. Rob Kuester and Jamie Siragusa added two hits each.
