| It was a close game from the start as both teams fought to keep the lead. The Monarchs offense was led by a 4-4 performance from Chaz Lemoine and good pitching from Sean Dyer. Randy White and Andy Glenn also scored 2 runs each to help preserve the win. Good game from the D-Backs as we look forward to playing them again. |

| It was a sunny day at South Miami High School. The Monarchs scored 2 runs in the 1st, but the D-Backs answered with 3 of their own, highlighted by Andy Celaya's double for a 3-2 lead after 1 inning. Both teams added a run in the 2nd. The Monarchs scored 3 runs in the 3rd, followed by 2 runs for The D-Backs for a 6-6 tie after 3 innings. Chaz Lemoine's long 2 run homerun to center field put The Monarchs up 8-6 after 4 innings. The D-Backs got 1 back in the 5th to close the gap to 8-7. The Monarchs added a run in the 6th and 1 in the 7th for a 10-7 lead. The D-Backs rallied in the 7th (and final) inning to plate 2 runs on hits from Ivan Asencion and Andy Celaya, but the tying run remained stranded at 2nd base for a 10-9 final score. Andy Celaya was 4-4, 2B, BB, 2 RS, 2 RBI. Ivan Asencion was 2-4, BB, Run, 2 RBI. 6 other players chipped in hits. It was an evenly played game, as both teams had 12 hits. |
