Southern Yankees explode with offensive outburst
by Southern Yankees (28+ Division)

A beautiful day @ Lynn University Field to play baseball turned into a hitting clinic by the Southern Yankees. With 5 runs in the first & second innings the Yankees jumped out to an early big lead & double snowmanned the always tough Davie Tigers by a score of 16-8. The Yankees were led by Wilmur FLores & Saul Pena with 4 hits apiece. Flores wanted everyone back in the dugout when they were on base & proceeded to knock in six Southern Yankees runners in another game where he excelled. Not to be left out of the outburst was captain & slugger Sam Bartoletta who singled ,doubled & tripled & caught a well pitched game by new pitcher Franklin Brito. Christian De La Rosa & Jerry Wichert banged out 3 hits apiece to lead the Southern Yankees 20 hit attack. De La Rosa also made an ESPN da da dat da da dat throw frOM left center on a rope to Catcher Sam Bartoletta who swiped a perfect tag to catch a Tiger by his tail. All in all a great effort offensive wise and as we plug a few holes defensively the SoutheRn Yankees look like they will be much more competitive in the South Florida Baseball League this season. Hats off to classy Tiger Manager Dave Carnavale who also played a stellar game 4 the Davie Tigers @ shortstop & with his hitting at the plate. Good seeing Andy Bo & Tiger pitcher Ray Sanabria who once again gave us fits with his assortment of pitches that floated & darted in the middle innings; as he kept his team in the game. The Southern Yankees looked awesome offensively & Franklin Brito is a huge upgrade to our pitching staff with his complete game performance. Great game ballplayers it was fun & we have assembled a team that looks like it can go toe to toe with anyone. We look forward to the challenge as the S outhern Yankees return to being a force to be reconded with again. Stay thirsty my friends!

Yankees knockout Tigers...
by Davie Tigers (28+ Division)

Southern Yankees outslug Tigers, handing Tigers their third loss of the season. Tough start to this one, as Yankees would jump out to quick 5-0 lead off of Tigers starter, Max. Yankees 1-5 hitters would look like Murderer's Row, as they would crush the ball all over the field to start the game. Tigers would get one back in the bottom of the 1st, but would leave a couple on to end the threat. In the 2nd, aided by a hit batter, and 2 consecutive walks, the Yankees would add 5 more. Ray Sanabria, relieving Max in the 3rd, would keep Tigers close with a 1-2-3 inning. Tigers would get 3 in the third, as Ray Sanabria would lead off inning with a double. Jose would follow by getting on an error. But he would be caught stealing by a perfect throw by Yankees catcher, Sam. Coach Carnevale would fly out to center and with 2 outs in the inning, Carlos would get another clutch 2 out RBI hit this season. Andy would walk, and Carlos would score on an error. Chayanne Hernandez, would continue to hit the ball well, bringing Andy in with an RBI double in the gap. Chayanne would add another RBI double in the 7th. I have been very pleased to see his improvement at the plate, but most of all, his willingness to listen and learn the game. In the end, the much improved Yankees would be too much for the shorthanded Tigers. Hats off to Ray, Jerry, and his classy team for playing the game the right way. The Senior division continues to look as tough and competitive as it has been in quite some time. Tigers will need to step up in all facets of the gamne to stay in the hunt...
