| COMEBACK IN ERROR FILLED GAME |

| The Kendall Metz came back from a 9-4 deficit and drubbed the Southern Yankees 18-13 in an error filled game...... The Yankees had an uncharacteristic Bad News Bears game in the infield especially and committed a season high 7 errors. That usually is a recipe for disaster and the final result showed. They fought valiantly later in the game but came up short against the solid hitting Metz.Jerry Wichert led the Southern Yankees with 3 hits and Sam Bartoletta smacked 2 long triples to keep the game interesting and Ken Silberling had 2 hits. The Yankees bats were relatively quiet as they had problems with the slow darting frizz-balls from the Mets hurler and didn't square too many balls up. The Southern Yankees now turn their attention to the very formidable Broward Marlins and their array of slugging hitters. We finished 10-2 for the season and number one seed but as you know once you are in the playoffs anything can happen. The Marlins will be tough as usually we play pinball like games with their talented squad and good hitters. |
